A Black-capped Chickadee at my Ceramic Bird Bath

Posted by admin

“Look at that incredibly cute bird!” your friend might exclaim while looking out your window at the crowd or birds hopping in and out of your ceramic bird bath.  That cute bird is most likely a Black-capped Chickadee, a bird many find adorable.  This cute look comes from the fact that the Black-capped Chickadee has a rounded head, a small little body, and a very curious look that it seems to give everything that comes near it.

Its black head and chin, brown sides, and gray wings and back are fairly distinctive, making it easy to see when this cute bird is splashing around in your backyard bird bath. The Black-capped Chickadee also loves to hang out at bird feeders, too.  If you’ve made a bird paradise in your back yard, you’re sure to see some of these cute birds come by to visit.  However, don’t expect them to stay.  The Black-capped Chickadee is a snatcher—they fly in, snatch up some seed, and they fly away.  The same goes for bird baths.  They’ll swoop in for a drink or a quick splash and then they’re gone, flying off with the rest of their flock
