As a landscape contractor, one of my jobs is to find the right elements for a particular job. Recently I was given the task of finding large copper finials for an entrance gate into a lovely estate. After exhausting all of my options locally I turned to the internet to see what I could find online. What I found was a great copper finial that fit the bill and once I presented it to the homeowner, they were please as could be with the find; just proving that you can find a lot of things online if you know where to look. As a first time homeowner and landlord, I was entering a new terrain that I was unfamiliar. I converted a new home into a duplex and was beginning to show the bottom level to renters. After the first couple lookers and no takers, I knew there was something I needed to address, and that was the lack of storage space within the apartment. There was no way to add more space indoors without breaking the bank, so I began to think about other options. In the previous house where we stayed at, we were getting slightly hard water. We had costly fittings in the bath room which turned dull in no time. The costly fittings in the kitchen sink had developed scaling. Attending to all these during week days was impossible because of office work. We had not heard of Shower Filters then. We had $600 left over from our redecorating budget of $10,000. Almost all the money was spent on the interior of the home on bathroom and kitchen updates. Rather than pocket the extra money, we decided to take a look at our yard as a place to add $600 in improvements. It was small and quaint and surrounded by a cedar fence, a feature that provided some privacy. But, it was basically a plain and boring fence. We found a simple, but elegant, solution when we found an appealing fence post cap design online. The cedar fence post caps were around $18 each.
