Yet Another Excellent Ficus
Posted by adminWhenever people ask me about indoor bonsai that are well suited to beginners, I mention Baby Jades, Shefflera and always, I mention Ficus. Ficus are without question the most ubiquitous of indoor plants and there is a reason. Not only does the Genus Ficus include many plants that are remarkably different in appearance, for instance both the Rubber tree and the Benjamina are members, it also includes tropical and subtropical plants that are easy to care for. For the purpose of bonsai, many plants in the genus ficus display many desirable characteristics. These include smaller leaves, interesting bark and branch structure and a tolerance for pinching, pruning and root pruning.
